a cat zine series

Sweet ‘n Sour is an ongoing zine series that explores the hilariously cute (and sometimes frustrating) tendencies of cats through a constant motif of color. Each pocket-sized zine is printed on the Risograph in three eye-catching inks. Read about each zine below.

sweet ‘n sour: a cat zine

The first volume of the zine focuses on the dichotomy of Sweet and Sour, two cats represented respectively by the colors pink and yellow. Inspired by the wholesome nature of my roommate’s cat and the chaotic personality of my own cat, the zine features spot illustrations of the cats with captions. The print run for this volume was 30 zines and there are still a couple left in my shop to purchase!

sweet ‘n sour: advice from cats

The second volume of the zine continues the exploration of the differences between Sweet and Sour; however, this time through helpful and unhelpful advice. Sweet gives the viewers positive tips while Sour’s advice is misguided, and the color motif continues to add to this. The print run for this volume was 50 zines, but due to an unfortunate error in the production, this issue is not currently for sale. I am working on an updated print run of Advice from Cats and hope to complete it very soon.

…and more to come!
